Sandra Hilltomt, who founded Nuro, is on Founders 50 2026, the first list of fifty founders building companies in the Nordics, presented by Nebius. Nuro started in May, so when the list was revealed on 24 August we were about three months old.
You cannot apply for Founders 50. People who build the Nordic startup ecosystem each nominate one founder, and nobody can nominate themselves. In the organizers’ words: “Someone else has to say your name.” So Sandra is on the list because people outside Nuro looked at what we are building, and who we are building it for, and gave it their one nomination. To everyone who said her name: thank you.
Sandra was teaching AI in a classroom when she found out she has ADHD, after a childhood as one of the kids school was never built for. Nuro is the thing she should have had. Those students are who this belongs to: Swedish law already gives them a right to adapted support, and too many still do not get it. More about Founders 50: thefounders50.com.
